Jonathan Brand
Jonathan Brand is a resident of Lakelaw's Chicago office. He represents Chapter 11 debtors, Chapter 7 trustees, and creditors in a variety of insolvency proceedings pending in State and Federal Bankruptcy Court. He has also prosecuted and defended a significant number of adversary proceedings pending in Bankruptcy Courts throughout the country. Through his practice, Jonathan has handled a wide range of matters in the construction, manufacturing, real estate, equipment leasing and pharmaceutical industries.
His recent successes include the representation of small business debtors, real estate developers, and single asset real estate entities before the Bankruptcy Court. Additionally, he has represented numerous real estate developers in real estate “work-outs” and out-of-court restructuring.

- In re Patrick Power Corp. – Preference defense. Defense of preference claims asserted by chapter 7 trustee on the grounds of ordinary course of business and new value defenses.
- In re Purity Products, Inc. – Preference defense. Defense of chapter 7 trustee’s preference claims.
- In re Global Estates, LLC (and related subsidiaries) – Representation of commercial landlord in chapter 11 case concerning 10 different properties.
- In re Premier International Holdings, Inc. (aka Six Flags, Inc.) – Representation of governmental entity in debtor’s chapter 11 case.
